It's a nicely compact lock and feels well manufactured. The plastic holder is not as good quality as the lock itself and, when attached to my seat post, was skew-whiff to the frame, so did not look great.
More importantly, in order to remove the lock from the holder you need the same length of clearance as the holder itself. So, on my medium framed hybrid, there was not enough clearance to remove the lock from the holder. Disappointed. Will keep as it's a reasonable lightweight lock but if you're looking for something light to keep on the bike all the time, check those frame dimensions.
Looked at some lighter option. Really just not worth it, too flimsy in comparison. Mounted it on the bike. Been on a 15 miles jaunt. No issues at all. No shake. No rattle. Also mounted on top of my pump, no problem. Moved my water bottle. Not enough head room on women’s bike to put on seat post, unless your tall of course.
I wanted a reasonably robust looking lock I could fit conveniently to a Brompton folding bike. This one works for me. The lock slides into the case which I have strapped to the bike and seems secure in place . It has reasonable flexibility too and is smooth when folding and unfolding so handy for securing in a wider variety circumstances. It looks reasonably solid as a deterrent. I'd prefer is it was "gold" rated but I usually use with a DLock too. Good value.
Love using the seatylock. Just about slides out of the holder on the seattube of my road bike frame.
The Foldylock is a substantial product which gives me peace of mind. It is easy to carry on the frame and doesn’t rattle. Recommended. Service and price from Vanilla Bikes was great.
