Slightly retro & stylish.Comfortable, smart & good to wash.
I am presuming none of the previous reviewers ride road bikes.
When I recieved the gloves I was initially really pleased. Beautiful leather and nicely made. Fitted well too. But riding the bike it becomes a different story. Who designed these gloves. Clearly not someone who rides a bike. The pads are all in the wrong place.
There is a large pad across the top of the palm on the finger joints. This is not a pressure point riding a bike, neither is the pad at the top of the thumb. The pads down the side of the palm are too far around the hand and do not join the pad on the lower part of the thumb. Consequently when riding on the drops and mostly on the hoods the bars are between the pads, so the pads are of no use at all.
I really wouldn't like to cycle more than 2 hours in these gloves.
The seams on the thumbs also felt like they were beginning to rub, which I think someone else mentioned.
Oh and the micro suede panels on the thumb aren't suede (as in leather) they are black elastic.
In summary therefore - fashion over functionality and not really fit for purpose.
I've tall fingers, so I always buy men's gloves.
This was wider than normally I use (BBB, Fox and Sidi).
i purchased these glove to see how they stacked up against the RAPHA gloves and to be honest I'm glad I did because they are really comfortable, I probably could have gone for the next size down but all in all, great value.
These are extremely comfortable, provided one measures one's hands, for the correct sizing. The padding is sufficient, without being overdone. My only criticism is that the underside of the top velcro flap is the rough half, which seems like a strange design decision; I'd have given five stars, had the velcro halves been attached in the opposite way.
These gloves are very well padded. Nice snug fit. The leather is exceptional.More green than white but I do love them all the same.
The wipe area is large enough.
I have only used these twice, so around 180 miles. I have washed them in cold water as instructed and they still look like new.
My only problem is the join on the thumb area. This does give me some discomfort when changing gear from the hoods. I hope once they have been used a little more this will go away.
Great service form customer support (Tracey) nd great delivery time.
Have had these gloves just over a week now. First impression is that they are the best mitts I have had to date. I have tried a number of mitts before including ones that cost considerably more but these seem better quality. They are very comfy indeed, hardly notice you are wearing them. An additional plus is they are quite stylish too. I certainly recommend these from the 200 or so miles I ridden with them so far.
These gloves are splendid. The leather is so soft yet perfect for a 'dry glove slap' so beloved of the Nazis in 'Allo 'Allo.
The padding is perfectly placed and has just the right amount if squishiness and the styling goes wonderfully with all my kit, they are spot on if wearing classic styled kit but also modern enough to go with my racing gear.
The snot wipe panel is quite small and more like a microfibre but it wiped snot well and rinsed clean with no issues.
One thing they don't have that I wish they did are some loops between the fingers to assist with glove removal. That said, I've not bought a pair of gloves for 4 years now and I'm glad I took the plunge with these. I'm well chuffed.
Don't forget to clean the snot off before dry glove slapping someone.
Excellent quality and dead comfortable.
Really impressed after the first couple of rides.
Shaping up to be the best summer glove yet.
