Mud guards do nt have enough clearances
Anything that sticks to the tyres makes for a very noisy bike ride as it rubs.
The stuff (Tracy) was very helpful. Thank you
These are my second set of RoadRacers, the last were version 2 and, although the new version have gone on OK, they were not as easy to fit as the mark 2's. The new version use a kind of heavy duty velcro (it's a lot stronger than it sounds) which hold them well but are tricky to adjust on the initial install. When you need to detach them for minor clearance adjustment, they tend to pull the patches that are stuck on the inside of the stays off rather than peel apart. Other than that though, they fit snugly and look as though they will see me through winter. I would recommend them as long as you are patient fitting them.
After happily riding with the Roadracer Mk2’s for two years, it was time for a replacement. The Mk2’s were good mudguards, slim, fitted even on tight clearance race frames, fairly easy to attach. The Mk3’s however are better in every way, wider clearance for tires, easier attachment, sturdier, longer coverage.
I have only just fitted the guards so I don't know anything about longevity but they certainly seem pretty robust. Easy to fit and quite attractive (as far as mudguards go). In my opinion another superb Crud product.Quick and efficient service from Vanilla bikes
This is an addition to an earlier review. I'd jettisoned the front guard a few months ago and have now ditched the rear mudguard too. Just not enough clearance for my bike (Scott Solace) so it felt like every piece of road grit was being dragged along with me. It looks like an innovative design, but ultimately they're flawed. The fact you have to use a stanley knife to try and get them to fit also means they're unreturnable. Of course, you'd never know that they're not up to scratch until you'd mutilated them. One star for looking good, minus four stars for ultimately being useless.
Purchased these after researching on the internet and YouTube. Had absolutely no problem fitting on my old Simoncini fitted with 23mm tyres. I was a bit dubious about the rear fitting as being an old frame it only has thin chain stays. Shouldn't have worried, as long as you make sure that all is really clean and warm then they stick really well. Adjustment is easy and they look good to. Compared to some of the alternatives these look as if they will last a long time, only time will tell.
First of all, I really wanted these to work - the design looks great, and it's a clever fixing system. The rear mudguard went on ok, but I've really struggled with the front. I'm running 25mm continentals on a Scott Solace, and there just isn't enough room to get the front guard clear of the tyre. I went out for a spin last weekend and had to remove the front guard 10 miles into a ride as the scraping sound was driving me mad. With clearance on my bike being so tight, every tiny piece of mud, grit etc sounds like you're dragging a bag of spanners around with you. Not ideal. Looks like there are plenty of happy customers on here, so this system works for some - but it didn't for me. Shame.
easy to instal. simpel and good
fixes in 10 min
I was brought to the attention of this product at the bike show at the nec in Birmingham . I had had a problem with fitting mudguards to my cannondale because of the disc brakes but these completely solved that problem. When they arrived they took literally minutes to fit and performed very well on there first outing. Plus because they are removable I was able to discard easily during the fine weather. I really like these I really rate them
Looked for an easy option fit for my cannondale caadx with disc brakes and these are a perfect fit, easy to install and remove when not required.Look good too.
These are a vast improvement over the MK2, Which were great but were a pain to maintain. I've fitted these to my specialized Langster fixed gear commuter as there are no braze on's for regular mud guards for the autumn/winter. These are easy to fit and maintain, give good protection and very little movement (and they are quick and simple to remove and fit in a hurry). They even look sleek and aesthetically pleasing, which is something I'd never thought I'd say for mudguards. Well worth the investment if ride through all all seasons.
Saw them at the Cycle Show and thought, yep, these are what I need. They're light and really stiff, and a doddle to fit and remove. There's a great little video on Crud Products website (excellent horse...) but the instructions on the inside of the box are fine. Fit great on my disc-braked Cotic Roadrat. I'm impressed how this product has evolved, having had the Mk 2s on before. Fewer tiny parts to lose, greater rigidity and they look tidy, too. Recommended.
Having failed to fit regular (sks) mudguards of various types to my 2016 CAADX, these fit the bill perfectly, including being able to leave the pannier rack on.
Easy to fit with a bit of patience.
Be aware that some types of front derailleur (Tiagra 4700) may pivot in such a way to press against the mudguard - adjust where you connect the mudguard to the seat tube to prevent this from being an issue.
The new Mk3 guards are excellent.
Easy to fit, look good, light & keep you dry & clean.
Also fit bikes with disc brakes.
Great service from Vanillabikes. Fitted the rear guard no problems came to the front and I didn't have enough clearance so had to cut the guard just behind the forks. These guards look the buisness and the Velcro fastening system is solid the guards don't give any rattling even going over bumpy roads. Easy to remove and great protection. Can recommend.
